NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SCHOOL-BASED FEEDING

PROGRAM
SY -2022

Health today is the most given priority among the people all over the world to
fight against the virus spreading in the countries. In educational system, health affects the
performance of learners. Thus, the school addresses the issues of hunger through school-
based feeding program is to enhance one’s physical emotional, social and mental health.

Learners are not all as lucky to have a normal health body. As we determine,
some of our learners are undernourished and we noticed that health affects learning. Ilijan
Elementary School is very lucky to be one of the recipient schools of School-Based Feeding
Program of the government. We do believe that this program will help a lot to improve the
health status of the pupils.

Our school had one hundred twenty (128) undernourished pupils who were the
beneficiaries under the SBFP. The amount intended for each learner is Php 18.00 a day for 30
feeding days plus Php 2.00 per learner daily for the other materials during the feeding
implementation. The program implementation covered for 30 days.

There were preparatory activities undertaken by the school to ensure the success
of the implantation. School Head together with the school Feeding Coordinator attended
orientation of SBFP via google meet to be implemented in the school. Teachers and parents
were also given opportunity to know the benefits, roles of the parents and teachers and the
procedures on how this program will be implemented. Parents were encouraged to deworm
their children to make the feeding more effective.

The amounts released to school were given in one (1) tranche; Php 76,800.00
intended for 30 days. The amount was disbursed based on the proposed breakdown of
expenditures. The fiscal committee worked on the procurement based on accounting rules
and regulations. Parents, administrative aides and teachers assigned did the preparation of
foods to be served based on the cycle menu.

While the program was implementing, monitoring and evaluation were conducted
for the improvement of the implementation. Feedbacks were also solicited to identify some of
the issues and concerns and provided immediate solutions.

The amount released with a total of Php 76,800.00 was properly liquidated
following the accounting rules and regulations. Other reports were submitted on time,
accurate data and documentation. Accomplishment report was also submitted on time.
