I.OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The prevention, detection, and treatment of diseases affecting the circulatory and respiratory
systems
B. Performance Conduct an information dissemination activity on effective ways of taking care of the respiratory

Objectives Identify common circulatory diseases.

KBI: Proper Care of Circulatory System
Cardiovascular disease – A range of conditions that affect your heart or blood vessels.
2. Stroke – occurs when it damages the brain when a blood vessel gets blocked or leaked
usually from a blood clot.
Risk factors/causes:
D. Explain - Smoking, high blood pressure, excessive alcohol intake and diabetes.
3. Hypertension – also known as high blood pressure. It can lead to severe health
complications. is also known as the silent killer due to the fact that people with
hypertension usually have no symptoms.
Risk factors/causes:
- Obesity, diabetes, lack of fruits and vegetables in the diet and high salt intake.
4. Heart attack – occurs when the blood flow to the part of the heart is blocked by blood
clot, the heart muscle supplied by the artery begins to die.
Risk factors/causes:
- Atherosclerosis, diabetes, high blood pressure and gender (more common in
males).
