Title: EFFICACY OF CAPSICUM ANNUM AS MOSQUITO SPRAY

ABSTRACT

This research entitled “ EFFICACY OF CAPSICUM ANNUUM AS MOSQUITO

SPRAY” aims to propose the use of Capsicum annum (bell pepper) as an alternative
source of mosquito control agent by presenting its efficacy. Moreover, this paper
promotes the use of capsicum annum as it is non-toxic, widely available, and
economical.

Dengue is one of the leading diseases caused by a species of mosquito, Aedes

Aegypti. It has been one of the most deadly viruses, especially in developing countries
such as the Philippines and other tropical countries since their environment is most of
the time, wet which is a favorable condition for mosquitoes to grow especially in
stagnant bodies of water.

Due to this unfortunate phenomena that takes place in the country annually, the
need to address this concern is a top priority. For years, people have been using
synthetic products that is harmful both to humans and the environment.

This paper advocates the use of product that is biodegradable and does not
inhibit ill effects on organisms that are not the target. In an attempt to make an effort
regarding the pressing matter; the researcher strived to use descriptive method.
