Yasser Ameur or The Yellow Man

Yasser Ameur creates artworks that explore the human condition in contemporary

culture. His artistry works are street-based, giving him a place to “raise questions”. He allows his

works to open up many different interpretations. Yasser Ameur works on the concept of the

Yellow Man as a way of offering an analogy to the present social condition of man, imagined

and shaped to fit the Algerian context. His characters are stretched in fat; they have deceitful

eyes and hide their rabble`s wealth of oil and hypocrisy. More than a personal choice, he defends

the symbolism of yellow, which he incorporates into Paul Gauguin's inspired work The Yellow

Christ, which implies denouncing the negative aspects of modern society.

The epic reflection of works of art in today's society lays the groundwork for aspects of

art in our society through the virtues of artists offering their feelings and perspectives.

Contemporary art helps convey political, social, and cultural issues effectively, commemorating

people and events, and more often as self-expression. Yasser's various artworks bring beautiful

images and evoke a deep understanding of people through art. This piece tends to identify the

artworks that make up modern society by engaging our reflection on the events represented and

finding out the relevance of these artworks in society. It reflects the existence and culture of the

times, combining expressionism, abstraction, and postmodernism. It aims to express the

interesting facts that such arts bring to society through the elements infused in them. Art

translates experiences across place and time. Art study and critique help develop visual literacy,

broaden their awareness of the role of arts in everyday life, and enhance critical thinking skills

that can influence individuals' understanding of the past, present, or future. Art can be objective

(based on facts) or subjective (based on personal tastes). These are some of the factors that

influence art preferences.
