EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This business report aims to propose a logistics system called Arrow Trucking to provide a
cheaper and more efficient option for transporting goods. The proposed system will allow
users to easily book small pickup trucks for their transportation needs, with the added feature
of providing packers for packing their goods. In addition, the app will offer different
packages to daily customers, attracting more users to the service. The data for the proposal
will be collected through secondary research, such as online databases, and primary research
methods, such as surveys and interviews.

The proposed plan includes conducting market research to identify the ideal customer and
developing a business plan, focusing on the target market, marketing strategy, and revenue
generation. The system will be accessible through a user-friendly website/mobile app with an
easy-to-use interface for truck drivers to post/update their availability. A team of
professionals will be hired to manage the day-to-day operations, including customer service,
logistics, and IT support. The system will be continuously monitored and improved, focusing
on market trends and customer feedback. As the business grows, services will be expanded to
multiple cities, introducing different services and an expanded team of drivers to meet excess
demand.

A. Who is our ideal customer?
Our ideal customers are manufacturers and distributors who require the services of
transportation and packing of goods but find it difficult to access affordable and convenient
logistics solutions. By connecting with us, manufacturers can get their goods packed and
transported easily from the place of production to distributors, then distributors can get them
transported to retailers or wholesalers. Their need for transportation of goods on daily basis is
what makes them our IDEAL CUSTOMER.
B. What does our ideal customer really want?
Since our ideal customers are manufacturers and distributors who require frequent
transportation of goods so obviously they’ll be looking for more convenient, affordable and
reliable logistics service options in the market which will make their entire production
process cost effective by reducing cost burden and increasing their profit margin.
C. Why do people buy from us? What value or need does it fulfil?
We cater the three important needs of our ideal customers: convenience, affordability and
reliability.
We are convenient as customers can easily access our app and book a truck for the
transportation of goods whenever they need.
We are affordable as we are going to offer them transportation services at cheaper rates
which could even be less than market rates.
We are reliable as it will be well managed, well organized and customer centered logistics
app whose first priority would be customer satisfaction.

II. Develop a Business Plan


A. What is our target market?
Our target market is broad as we will be targeting all those businesses which require
transportation services (land transport) to get their shipments delivered from one place to
another. However, we’ll be more focused on those who need a more affordable and
convenient logistics solution.
B. What is our marketing strategy?
We are living in the era of social media so we’ll be capitalizing this opportunity and make
digital and social media marketing our marketing strategy. Nowadays almost everyone has an
account on different social sites so we’ll take advantage of that and will try to grow our
audience by increasing our social media reach through different promotional campaigns
which will simultaneously increase our market share. Furthermore, we’ll encourage word of
mouth referrals by getting our existing customers to share their experiences with their
fellows.
C. How is our business going to make money?

Our business will be getting different ent truck drivers on board who will be charging the
customer according to our pricing criteria, according to which we’ll be charging some
commission on every delivery which will serve as our source of revenue. But this won’t be
our only source as we are planning on adding monthly subscription feature to our app once
we have earned enough audience. Those who opt for this feature will getting some premium
services and discounts from our side, making it a fair trade off between us and the customers.

III. Develop a /website mobile app


A. User friendly mobile website/app
We will develop a user-friendly mobile app and website. The website will have complete
information about us, from our history to customers reviews/ratings, everything would be
there and the website would direct the users directly to our mobile app download option in
both play-store (android) and app store (iOS).
Our mobile app would be easily accessible by both android and iPhone users. We to will
make it easy for customers to book our logistics services. Like our website, our app would be
easy to navigate as well so that customers may not find any difficulty in booking. We will
offer a simple booking and payment process.
B. Truck drivers’ convenience to post/update
We will be designing our mobile app by keeping in view it’s major user i.e truck drivers, who
will be using it to post and update their availability for transportation services. Although the
app would be easy to use but in order to get our truck drivers started, we’ll be providing them
a little training session on how to use the app, which clear out all of their confusions,
moreover they can always contact us in case of any emergency.
C. Access to factories/suppliers to book them
Our website and mobile app will provide easy to access to all which includes: factories and
suppliers allowing them to book transportation services conveniently.

IV. Hire Staff


A. Professionals to manage day-to-day operations.
Our main motto is to make our customers satisfied with our services and improve customer
experience and to achieve this objective, we will hire professionals, who have expertise in
this line of work, to manage the day-to-day operations of our logistics business.
B. Employees on each dept. including customer service, logistics etc.
One of the keys to success is having strong human resource management team, as they’re the
ones responsible for hiring the right man for the right job, so of course we’ll be spending a
good amount on HRM and hire employees for different departments, including customer
service, logistics, and marketing etc. Strong HR management would result in high
productivity and strong customer relations.

V. Monitor and Improve


A. Continuously monitor our services and make improvements.

Contemporary businesses constantly make improvements to maintain quality and cater


changing consumer needs. Therefore, we will be monitoring our logistics services every now
and then to identify areas of improvement and make necessary changes to enhance the
customer experience.
B. Keeping a check on customer’s goods
In order to make a strong customer base who are loyal to us, we will not be leaving
everything on truck drivers’ mercy instead we will keep a check on customer’s goods to
ensure safe and timely transportation.
C. Focusing on market trends
In modern era, there are rapid changes in trends and customer preferences which is why we
will focus on market trends to stay up-to-date on the latest developments in the logistics
industry and adapt our services accordingly. So as not to lose any of our precious customer.

VI. Scale up
A. Provide services in more than one city
Initially we’ll just be providing our services to only one city but we have plans to expand our
logistics services to cover more than one city in the future.
B. Introducing different services
In order to attract more customers, We plan to introduce different services to meet the
evolving needs of our customers, such as warehousing and storage, custom clearance,
insurance, last mile delivery etc
C. Expanding our team of drivers to meet the excess demand
Once our business is setup and our customer base starts growing, We will expand our team of
drivers to meet the growing demand for our logistics services.
