II. Answer the following questions. Use 3-4 sentences to answer each.

1. Do all organisms depend on the Sun for their energy needs? Cite examples to support your answer.
(3 pts.)
- Absolutely, all organisms rely on the Sun’s energy because it is necessary for our development.
Our life cycle is dependent on it. Lights a example of absorbs solar energy and store it in form of
photosynthesis. They are required for our growth and for us to have energy to spend on physical
activities in our daily lives.

2. Why is photosynthesis crucial to the survival of most organisms on Earth? (3 pts.)

- Because plants are essential to most species on the planet, photosynthesis is critical.
They are necessary for survival and help to provide us the requirements of life like as food,
oxygen, and so more on. While plant survival is dependent on photosynthesis, which occurs in
the leaves and uses energy from light to produce food, photosynthesis is critical to the survival of
most species.

3. Briefly discuss the different types of heterotrophs? (3 pts.)

- There are three categories of heterotrophs. The first is parasitic, which are living other species
known as hosts, and keep in mind that the parasite provides no advantage to the host. The
second type of organism is saprophytic, which feeds on dead creatures. The final category is
Holozoic, which comprises three subtypes: herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores. They consume
mechanically broken down food, which also occurs in larger animals like us.
-
4. Briefly discuss how organisms obtain energy from food through cellular respiration? (3 pts.)
- Cellular respiration is a process in which organic molecules that make up proteins are broken
down.
The energy obtained by the organism from the food it consumes. This describes how they get
their energy from food via means of cellular respiration

5. In your own words, state the interrelationships among autotrophs and heterotrophs in the ecosystem. (3 pts.)
- A self-sustaining creature, which means it can feed itself and produce its own food
own food through the photosynthesis process, which generates oxygen and carbon dioxide
They are heterotrophs, which is why they are referred to as the ecosystem's producer. whereas,
on the other hand, Heterotrophs cannot manufacture their own food, therefore they must rely
on autotrophs for sustenance. That doesn't explain why they're referred to as ecosystem
consumers.
