When a cage over-speeds, the centrifugal weight will overcome the pressure of spring, causingthe brake cone will forward spirally. Safety Control System Consists of some safety switches and other control apparatus, When a hoist travels abnormally, the system will cut the power automatically 8g and the cage will stop. Safety switchea are installed on cage gates and the trap door of cage. The cage will not start unless all gates of cage are closed. A slack rope switch is installed on the mast top» There are top and bottom limit cams and 3 —phase cams on a cage. When the cage travels to the top or bottom landing, it can be stoped automatically. Ifthe cage is not stoped with-in the safety range, the 3-phase switches will cut the power to stop the cage will be braked. At least every six month or in accordance with local safety regulations during operation. Safety device should be inspected after the two years it left the factory. If it is up to standard, itcan be used continuously. The inspection should be carried out annually after the first inspection. Method of Drop Test 1, The hoist must be full of load when dripping test. 2. Cut off the main power supply. Connectthe cable of the drop test button box into the EL.control box (see figure). 3, Pull the push button box and the cable out through the gate and put the button box on the ground. Make sure that the cable cannt get jammed or stuck. Close all gates. 4, Turn on the main power switch. 5, Drive the cage about 1 meters up by pressing the “Up” -buttons 6. Press the “Up”-button and keep it depressed. The cage will fall tile it reaches tripping speed and the safety device is actuated and the main power is cut off. The braking distance is 0.25m-1.2m. Count 7 R 8 the braking distance as soon as hearing “bong”. Sliding down distance is 1.2-2.5m Drive the cage about 0.2m up by pressing the “Up ” button. Repuirement Using Safety Device ly 2. The safety device are adjusted and sealed. Do not disassemble it. If the safety device trip abnormally when drop test investigate the cause and reset the safety device. Stop using it at once and change a new one for it when abnoemal phenomena take place. Besided the drop test, check that: 1, The brake is in order. 2, The reducing device and coupling are in order. 3. The guide rollers are in order. 4, Pinions and rack are in order. 5, The micro switch of the safety device is in order.
