DETERMINING PRESSURE DROP 3. Enter the pressure drop chart at the
determined area factor and proceed up
Use the area factor table and pressure to appropriate conversion velocity (CV)
drop chart to determine pressure drop lines. Then, read across to static pressure
through Laminaire 5102 - 5103 control drop at left side of chart.
dampers.
1. Determine area factor for damper by
entering the Area factor table through
duct width ang height.
2. Find the conversion velocity (CV) by
multiplying the selected size damper´s
area factor by the flow rate in CFM:

PRESSURE DROP CHART

DAMPERS
EXAMPLE:
Find the pressure drop across a 24" Wide
x 24" high for 5102 and 5103 control
damper handling 5500 CFM. From the
area factor table. the area factor is
determined to be 0.364
Area Factor x CFM = CV
Therefore, CV = 5500 CFM x 0,364 =
2000. Using the pressure drop chart,
pressure drop = 0.055 inches w.g
