ENGL 4021 M03 MINUTES
Meeting Date: January 26th, 2023

Call to Order:

A regular meeting of the Course ENGL 4021 M03 of the University of Puerto Rico at Ponce (UPRP) was held
in room MTC-1 of the Ruth Fortuño Academic Building on January 26th, 2023. The meeting convened at
10:32am, Professor LeCompte presiding and Javier J. Díaz Laboy, secretary. Attendance was not taken.

Approval of Minutes:

Minutes of the meeting of January 24th, 2023, were approved after corrections by members of the course.

Matters Discussed:

1. Professor Le Compte discussed the characteristics of a technical document.

2. The professor gave a practice exercise about technical instructions then the students were divided into
pairs to assemble a mousetrap and wrote the instructions for this process using what they learned
about the characteristics of a technical document.

3. After this small activity, Le Compte asked the students to finish the incomplete instructions that were
given to them about the traps without using external sources. Furthermore, she gave out a small
assignment to look for other types of mousetraps, including one that is humane.

Unfinished Business:

1. The chair postponed the free writing exercise to another class to be able to discuss other topics.

2. The professor was not able to check if the students created the portfolio accounts.

3. Students were not able to ask doubts about the portfolio or any other pending assignment.

Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 11:40am.
