HUMAN RIGHTS ISSUES IN THE PHILIPPINES

Every human being is born free and with equal rights to dignity. They should behave
toward one another in a brotherly manner since they have reason and conscience.
Human rights refer to the notion that everyone has the same rights and freedoms just
by virtue of being a person, and without regard to their race, gender, sexual orientation,
language, religion, or other ideas. However, throughout history, a lot of individuals have been
harmed by their absence. The absence of human rights actually has a significant impact on
people's lives.
Human rights are seen as inherently belonging to all people and are defined as the
freedom from wrongful detention, torture, and execution. Despite the fact that the terms
"freedom of expression" and "expression" are sometimes used interchangeably, they both refer
to any act of searching for, receiving, and disseminating information or ideas.
The majority of the nation's internal security is maintained by the Philippine National
Police, which answers to the interior ministry. In addition to being in charge of domestic
security in areas where the government believes there is a high incidence of terrorist or
separatist insurgent activity, particularly the Mindanao region, the Armed Forces of the
Philippines (armed forces), which answer to the Department of National Defense, are also in
charge of external security. Operations against terrorism and insurgency are split between the
two organizations. Urban counterterrorism activities are the responsibility of the national police
Special Action Force. The nomination of senior provincial and municipal police officers as well as
the allocation of resources are two areas where governors, mayors, and other local politicians
have a significant amount of influence. The Armed Forces of the Philippines (armed forces),
