DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN SCIENCE 10

BIODIVERSITY AND EVOLUTION (BIOLOGY)

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
 Determine the effects of environmental changes on adaptation and survival of a species;
 Identify the organisms that survive;
 Compare and contrast the characteristics of organisms that survives and did not survive the three
environmental disturbances.
 Appreciate the existence of living organisms, species and its variation; and
 Demonstrate actively in the class.

survival of species and conservation of our biodiversity.

I. INTRODUCTION
A. DAILY ROUTINE

A pleasant morning to everyone! Have a good life brought by K-12 to all of us!

Before we get started on our discussion for today,

let’s seek first the guidance from our Dear Lord
Jesus Christ. May I request anyone to please lead
the prayer.
Student will lead the prayer.
Mr./Ms.____ kindly leads the prayer.
Thank you! Sir.
You may now all be seated.

So, we’re blessed by this day, and it’s nice to see

your welcoming faces here. Before anything else, I
would like to remind all of you of the most essential
part of the class. It’ll be first, keep yourself
grooming and comfortable, minimize distractions
and noises. Pick up the piece of missy things around
your respective chairs. May you behave properly Yes! Sir
and respectfully and lastly don’t ever forget to
smile. Is that fine, class?

Alright! May I request the secretary or someone None. Sir! Everyone is around and ready to learn
who’s checking your attendance today. Kindly
report in the class. Is there any absent for today?
Ms. Secretary?

Very Good! That’s a great thing to heard.

B. REVIEW/RECAP
Last time, I’ve discussed to you the theory of
evolution based on Jean Baptiste de Lamarck and
Charles Darwin.

Alright! Anyone, how can enumerate the theory of

Jean Baptiste de Lamarck? The three theories of Lamarck are:
1. Theory of Need
2. Theory of Use and Disuse
3. Theory of Acquired Characteristic

Very good! What does the theory of need means? An organisms change in response to their environment.
Their ability to survive helped them develop
characteristics necessary for them to adapt in a given
environment.

Okay! An example of this theory was the giraffe

before having short neck but due to high twigs of
trees they stretch out their neck and so become long.

What about the theory of use and disuse? What does

it tell? The theory of use and disuse means that an organ not in
use will disappear while organs in use will develop.

Very good! All organ that may not use in their daily
live will soon disappear while organs or anatomical
part of their body that mostly they use will develop.
Theory of Acquired Characteristics.
Last theory of Lamarck?
The theory of acquired characteristics were believed to
