Effects of Growing Tourism in Countries

Tourism is one of the fastest-growing spheres of industry in the world. At the

national and international levels, tourism is an environmentally significant entity
that has great power to influence future development. Tourism has several
adverse consequences in countries on the environment, which should be taken
into account and eliminated.
One of the primary effects of tourism is air pollution due to the transport of
tourists. Tourists visit places via transport such as car, bus, train, and airplane.
These vehicles throw into the atmosphere carbon dioxide (CO2), which is one of
the greenhouse gases that cause global warming, consequently polluting the air.
According to the article "What Are the Negative Effects of Tourism on the
Environment?", tourists now constitute approximately 60% of air travel, because
of the excessive increase in international tourism. Many vehicles use air-
conditioners in order to provide tourists with comfort, which leads to even more
pollution.
Another major impact of tourism is noise pollution. Tourists' automobiles make
noise as they enter and exit wild regions. Noise from cars, buses, airplanes, and
other vehicles can cause discomfort for locals as well as animals. Such noise can
disturb animals and even lead to changing their natural activity pattern. The
mentioned article claims that travelers who play loud music in wooded regions
also annoy the local wildlife.
The third main outcome of tourism is the reduction of natural resources. One of
the primary examples of this is the depletion of water resources. Water resources
are used in an excessive way. For instance, the main volumes of water are spent
on golf courses, swimming pools and hotel needs. In addition, in some regions of
the world such as Egypt, Iran, and Australia, especially in their desert part, there is
much more need for water because of the harsh climate. As a result, the amount
of water consumed increases.
To sum up, tourism has negative influences on the environment, such as air
pollution, noise pollution and the reduction of natural resources. Based on the
analysis, I personally think that tourism should be controlled by the government
