My Answers

The two videos showed the challenges in two contexts: pre-pandemic and pandemic. There are many
challenges that existed before the pandemic that continue to exist although the situation may be
different.

o What challenges and trends mentioned in the two videos are affecting your schools
pre-pandemic and pandemic? Are they the same or different?
o Prior to the pandemic, the challenges and trends mentioned in the two videos that
were relevant to my school included those related to emerging technology, the
industrial revolution, and socio-emotional interaction. During the pandemic there is a
transition from the traditional face to face to flexible learning modalities blended,
hybrid, and alternative learnings modes wherein teachers should enhance their digital
teaching capacity to cope up with these challenges for the continuity of learning. The
challenges and trends in the pre-pandemic and during pandemic are related because
even before the pandemic there is already a need to have innovative skills and
creativity to address the needs of the learners. Only that during the pandemic teachers
should exert more effort or should I say have more innovative skills and creativity to
address needs of learners.

o In what ways have these changes and trends affected your school?
o My school was impacted by these trends and changes in how we prioritize school
development plans and how we educate our students. It forced us to prioritize
developing school ICT resources to support the digitalization of teaching-learning
and other school operations while prioritizing updating teaching platforms and
resources to adapt to the learning needs of these modern learners.

o How has this challenged you as a school head?

o These challenges and trends has challenged me to be more agile and flexible.
Always ready to modify the style or approaches for an unpredictable circumstances.
And as a school head I should be mindful of the different context on the changing
landscape so that I will be able to see which direction I can help the school and the
thinking of what I need to prepare for the school in the future landscape changing for
learning continuity.

Module 2
Reflections on The Concepts and Value of Strategic Thinking and Innovation

2.2 Write on Your Journal: Reflections on The Concepts and Value of Strategic Thinking and
Innovation
The act of reinventing or rebuilding an organization's strategy in order to spur academic progress,
produce benefits for the institution and its clients, and gain a competitive edge. Organizations need to
innovate in this way if they want to keep up with how quickly technology is changing.

1. Strategic plan articulates a shared vision, mission and values

For plans to advance in accordance with a vision, mission, and values, schools
must be able to interact, discuss, and communicate short- and long-term goals. A strategic
plan that is effectively communicated and implemented in schools benefits everyone by
keeping them updated on their strategic goals and how their activities are advancing the
achievement of these goals. This makes it possible for parents, employees, community
members, and stakeholders to collaborate around a shared goal.

2. A strategic plan effectively organizes schools, staff, and time

3. A strategic plan defines how success is measured

Understanding what success entails and the initial steps to take are crucial for
success. Without a clear grasp of the issues you hope to resolve, it is challenging to start a
strategic action plan. In the public sector, where goals frequently combine real, output-
based goals with abstract, impact-based measurements, it is particularly crucial to
establish unambiguous standards for success.
4. A strategic plan helps with decision-making, responsiveness, and
Innovation
A strategic plan enables educational institutions to stay adaptable in times of
change and to more clearly identify its goals for both the organization as a whole and for
student achievement. Educational institutions that have a strategic plan in place have a
roadmap they can follow, review, and adjust in order to assist better governance decisions
and give the school's future a clearer direction. This aids a school in keeping up a steady
pace of advancement toward its objectives and staying in the lead in terms of educational
innovation and when (not if) a disruptive event takes place.

5. A strategic plan increases communication and engagement

A strategic plan aids in general communication and engagement, especially one
that is made public on a dashboard. Building trust with stakeholders and sustaining
effective engagement—both internally and externally—requires a school board to clearly
communicate that its strategies and measures for success are components of a bigger,
holistic plan.
6. A strategic plan keeps everyone in a school—from teachers to
administrators—connected
All staff members are held responsible for their activities by a well-implemented
and articulated plan, which also promotes cooperation. This circle of duty is expanded in
educational settings towards the community; delivering outstanding and accessible
education is a task that calls for all hands on deck. One method to guarantee that
everyone remains connected is to be able to streamline the strategic planning process and
make it visible and simple to utilize.
7. The best justification for strategic planning comes back to the top objective
of every excellent school: students.
The best part is that educational strategic planning offers a framework to ensure
that the school's top priority—student academic achievement—is met. Being aware of
concerns like digital fairness, accessibility, literacy, employment readiness, and social
and environmental enrichment is made easier by having a solid educational strategy plan.
When a student's experience is the focus of the school, developing a strategic plan
becomes a collaborative endeavor to determine how to best position kids for success.
