Education Commission
These last few months have been a time of uncertainty and rapid adjustments in our lives and in our parishes.
Yet, through it all, the Gospel was still preached and taught. And it must continue to be preached and taught.
There are many ways that we can engage our faithful, especially our children, in order to study our Orthodox
Christian Faith. Circumstances have led to creativity in our parishes and homes, especially around ways to
connect with one another.
We do not know what our Christian education ministries will look like in the coming months. There may be
an increase in religious education from home. There may be on-line meetings of clergy and teachers with their
students. The resources created by the OCEC are designed for those who are not formally trained as teachers.
On page three of the catalog, you will find guidance on how to group children of various ages and use the
materials profitably. Let us all pray for God’s grace and mercy in these difficult times.
