Join CoolTan Arts BIG Largactyl Shuffle Sponsored Walk on 15 October, celebrate World Mental Health Day and raise money for CoolTan. Comedian and broadcaster Arthur Smith is supporting the walk as CoolTan Arts Largactyl Shuffle Sponsored Walk patron 2011. Meet him and join us for a day of laughter and culture. There will be breaks, poetry readings and other surprises along the route; we finish with a reception and refreshments at Tate Modern. Get involved, challenge stigma and help make mental health a global concern. We meet outside the main entrance of the Maudsley Hospital, Denmark Hill, SE5 8AZ at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, 15 October 2011, and we will take you on the Largactyl Shuffle Trail from Camberwell to the River. All we ask is that you commit to doing the walk with us on the 15 October 2011, and that you raise some money to help us! To register, you need to complete and return a registration form along with a registration fee of 5 unwaged and 10 waged (non-refundable). CoolTan Arts Largactyl Shuffle: Black History Walk Saturday 17 September 2011, 12noon Meet at Maudsley Hospital, Denmark Hill, SE5 8AZ
CoolTan Arts Largactyl Shuffle Group invites you to participate in our Black History Walk. Join this exciting walk and explore stories and figures relating to Black History and BME communities in Southwark, arts and mental health.... Do you have a story to tell that is related to Black History, arts and mental health in Southwark? Maybe you have a letter, a newspaper article, a photo, clothing, etc. relating to Black History and want to share it? Then let us know, bring it with you and come along. Any contributions are welcome. The walk is accessible to wheelchair users and people with disabilities. Everyone is welcome! Walkers meet at Maudsley Hospital, Denmark Hill, SE5 8AZ from 11.30am for a 12noon start, and the walk ends at Tate Modern; the walk leaders wear orange high-viz vests and rucksacks. Call CoolTan Arts on 0798 565 8443 if you cannot find the group of walkers on the day. The walk is free but voluntary donations will be appreciated. Farewell to Kathrin
Kathrin is leaving CoolTan Arts and moving on to a new job. Her last day is 21st September. Pop in for a chat before she leaves. We wish her all the best and hope to see her again at a walk or exhibition. Kathrin says she is sad to be leaving. I had a great time here and met wonderful people. I wish everyone at CoolTan all the best for the future.

Trips and Exhibitions Group *All welcome* Every Wed 4pm 5.30pm
Do you enjoy going to plays and art exhibitions? Would you like to help others to do the same? Are you interested in how exhibitions are organised and run at CoolTan Arts? Then this exciting new group is for you. We will be researching free tickets, building links to other galleries and theatres, and going on trips. Also we will be planning, advertising, organising and evaluating trips out to see exhibitions and plays. Eventually we hope the group will be helping to plan, fundraise, set up and run exhibitions at CoolTan Arts, and other venues. A chance to learn the whole process of putting on an exhibition and what happens afterwards. Everybody welcome, there are lots of varied tasks, something for everyone!
