Learning Objectives

 The course aims at introducing the learner to the Christ of prophecy in the Old Testament
who becomes the Christ of history and salvation in the Gospels, the Christ of experience in
the Epistles and the Christ of Glory in Revelation.

Expected Learning Outcomes


At the end of the course the learner should be able to:
 Explain the circumstances and the purpose for which each of the New Testament books
were written.
 Provide an overview and state the major theme or themes of each of the New Testament
books
 Explain the general structure, content, date and authorship of each of the New Testament
books.
 Explain some of the major time periods of the New Testament history.
 Describe the distinctive characteristics of each of the New Testament books.
 Describe the characteristics of the false teachers as addressed in the New Testament
books and how to respond to these erroneous teachings with the truth.
 Grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ so that you may love, worship, serve
and proclaim Christ more effectively.

Explanations Concerning the Assignments

Write biography of six biblical characters beginning with Jesus, Paul, James, John the apostle,
Philemon, Elizabeth. Secondly study background information of church city like Corinthian,
Ephesus, Colossians, Philippians and Rome thereafter you submit 4-6-page paper with the following
features (Times New Roman, font 12 with 1.5 spacing) but take note; any late submission attracts a
penalty

Students Lecture Attendance
 Students must attend not less than 80% of all (12) sessions to meet the course requirements,
the attendance register will be withdrawn 15 minutes after the commencement of the lecture.
 This course outline is intended to be a course guide. It is subject to change to accommodate
class/instructional needs.
 Students must attend the weekly (3-hour face to face lecture meeting), and actively take part
in class. However, there will be no lectures on the weeks when quizzes will be administered.
