Here’s what you need. Three

2x4s and two 1x4s, 8 foot
lengths. You’ll end up with
extra you can add to your
lumber hoard.

Every board in this project is

3” wide except these 2 long
stretchers because of their
beveled edges.

I suggest ripping the boards

to their widths after cutting
them to their lengths.

2x4 studs, 8’ long 1x4 boards

Here’s how to make a leg.
1. This 2x4 board should be
at least 17 1/4” long. (A little
longer wouldn’t hurt.)

2. Lop off both ends at a 10
degree angle. Now when you
measure, it should be about
16 3/4” end to end.

3. When you set the end on
the floor it will rest at a cool 10
degree angle. Crazy. Now just
do this three more times for the
other legs. (A one-legged bench
might pose challenges.)

Now do the same thing with the side stretchers. These are made from
1x4’s and you’ll need four of them.

Make 10 degree miter cuts on each end

Drill pocket holes on TWO of these side stretchers.

Attach the side stretchers to the legs.

Cut out the front and rear stretchers

Cut two boards to this size

each long edge

Attach front and rear stretchers to leg assemblies

Cut 5 seat slats out of 2x4s

Also, I ran a chamfer

around the edges of each
board.

Lop the corners off the

two end boards

Attach seat slats from underside using pocket screws
