WALK-IN HOURS
The Internship Program Office has daily walk-in hours, Monday through Friday from 9:00am 3:30pm. Stop by our office in STU B1 during our walk-in hours if you have a quick question about internships, connectSC or want to brainstorm workplace issues.

TWO DAYS LEFT TO RECEIVE COURSE CREDIT FOR UNPAID INTERNSHIP


The last day to register for an internship course is this Friday, September 9th. If you need course credit for an unpaid internship register TODAY! Federal labor law requires that students participating in an internship must either A) be paid by the employer; or, B) be enrolled in an internship for-credit course. Do you have an unpaid internship and need course credit? If so, register for one of USCs 15+ internship courses. For a full list of internship courses offered visit the Career Centers website, http://careers.usc.edu or stop by our office in STU B1. F-1 international students participating in a paid internship are required to receive Curricular Practical Training (CPT) authorization from OIS which requires enrolling in an internship course at USC. F-1 international students participating in an unpaid internship should contact OIS for more details regarding work authorization requirements.

DIVERSITY NETWORKING MIXER

FIRST GENERATION COLLEGE STUDENT MENTOR PROGRAM


Are you the first in your family to attend college? Would you like to enter into a mentorship with

an alumnus who was also the first in their family to attend college? The USC Career Center invites you to participate in our First Generation College Student Mentor Program. This program will provide real world exposure to the working world through a mentorship that focuses on professional and career development. Students will be paired with USC alumni who also are first generation college students. Emergency Management Department Emergency Management Intern The City of Los Angeles Emergency Management Department (EMD) is currently taking applications for the Undergraduate Emergency Management Intern position. EMDs highly competitive internship program, in the nations 2nd largest city, is open to undergraduate and graduate students interested in emergency management and pursuing a degree in emergency management, homeland security, public administration, strategic planning, or a related field. Interns will receive hands-on learning experiences, as they will be fully integrated into the Department and will be assigned projects related to emergency planning, emergency operations, communications, or community preparedness. Daily Trojan - Various Positions

The Daily Trojan is looking for writers, photographers, designers, artists and copy editors who want experience in a professional environment. Create high-quality samples by working for USC's award-winning student newspaper. The Daily Trojan is a crucial news source on campus and in the USC community, and stories are routinely linked or picked up by leading blogs, newspapers and TV outlets, including KABC, the Los Angeles Times and ESPN. The Walt Disney Company Special Reviews Undergraduate Intern The internship position for Special Reviews will be located in Glendale, California and resides within the Corporate Management Audit department. We are ideally targeting candidates who can commit to a year-round track which requires a minimum of 16 hours per week during the academic school year and will require full-time work hours (40 hours per week) during summer 2012. The Special Reviews group is responsible for conducting investigations into financial irregularities and fraud at the Walt Disney Company. Additionally, Special Reviews evaluates and opines on potential conflicts of interest involving company employees and provides guidance on the handling of gifts received by company employees from outside parties. Responsibilities would include obtaining practical SAP experience to export and review data, perform data analysis which requires knowledge and efficiency with Excel and Access, review computer and personnel files to identify evidence relevant to investigation, assist in handling and documenting routine conflict of interest and gift matters as prescribed by the company policy, maintain case tracking logs, and assist in preparation and presentation of various projects in assigned audit areas and provide solutions to problems as needed. Candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate program and working towards a Bachelors Degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field. UBS Financial Services Inc. Undergraduate Wealth Management Internship Assist wealth management team in keeping in contact with prospective clients by distributing research. A very small portion of your week will be tied to cold calling targeted individuals for wealth management services. Qualifications include a desire to work for a wealth street firm and learn to manage clients and grow a book of business while working through the sales process. The intern will assist with specific projects within the functional area such as, research, compiling data, collection, evaluation and distribution of data/information, calendar alerts, presentation preparation, etc. Key Responsibilities: Work with department to assist with specific projects within the functional area (specific projects will be defined for each internship upon placement). Alchemy Entertainment Entertainment Internship Internship at Alchemy Entertainment. We produced the Warner Bros./New Line feature 17 AGAIN. We are also currently in development on several other features. Our management/production company is looking for interns to help out around the office. Responsibilities include but not limited to occasional movie/TV set visits, assisting the Development Executive, reading scripts and writing coverage, answering phones and daily office tasks. Chernin Entertainment Entertainment Internship Chernin Entertainment is seeking 3-4 interns to work with our feature and television departments for the fall 2011 semester. House of Blues Entertainment Sponsorship Intern The qualified candidate for this job will be skilled at assisting the Los Angeles Sponsorship Department in handling corporate sponsorship clients for assigned music venues. This internship is an educational opportunity and does not guarantee the selected intern will be hired by Live Nation in the future, though they may be considered for subsequent employment should a related

position become available. College credit will be granted in exchange for the interns work during the semester this is a non-paying position. Principal duties include: Assisting the Sponsorship Department with internal and external projects for Regional Directors of Sales as well as local and national Sponsors for assigned music venues. The intern will be required to work 15-20 hours per week. This position will include involvement with: Assisting Sponsorship Staff (including Show days) , fulfillment of Sponsor agreements, implementing Sponsor promotions, assisting in set up and execution of Sponsor initiatives on show days, provide assistance in the sponsorship sales process including research and prospecting, internet Research, coordinating ticket orders, mailings, and tracking, work in conjunction with marketing to compile media packages, tracking Sponsor and venue media coverage, recapping client investments and administrative duties. ID PR Entertainment Public Relations & Brand Communications Internship

Exciting, fast-paced entertainment public relations firm seeks reliable, self-starting college students with excellent communication skills, proven ability to multi-task, and exceptional attention to detail. As the entertainment industrys largest independently owned and operated public relations firm, ID specializes in media relations, corporate communications, creative marketing and brand strategies. The Digital Media division of Marvel Studios is currently accepting applications for Fall 2011. Phoenix Books, Inc. Publishing Internship Independent publishing company is seeking a bright, hardworking intern to help out in multiple departments. White House Council on Environmental QualityInternship The White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) interns are given a wide range of assignments including conducting research, managing incoming inquiries, attending meetings, and writing memos on a variety of environmental issues. Interns have the opportunity to be involved in groundbreaking projects, working closely with staff from all levels and a variety of backgrounds. The pace in the office is fast, so accuracy and attention to detail are absolute requirements. Interns can expect to begin with the basics and gradually add more specialized projects as they gain experience. Other essential intern duties include answering phones, routing mail, copying documents, filing and retrieving information assembling briefing materials and performing assigned research tasks. We are seeking students who are: Highly motivated, willing to contribute where needed, and have the ability to handle the inherent pressure that comes with working within the Executive Office of the President. Additionally, candidates should have: Excellent communications skills, computer literacy, and relevant classroom or practical experience. We strongly prefer candidates who are available to work full-time, but will consider applicants who

cannot. CEQ will work with interns who are attempting to arrange credit with a college or university to help fulfill academic requirements. All internship positions are unpaid.
