D. Discussing ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM
new concepts This system prevents overheating by means of
and practicing controlling the temperature of an internal

alignment by circulating a coolant and a fan.

BASIC COMPONENTS OF COOLING SYSTEM

WATER PUMP- It pushes coolant from

the radiator through the coolant system,
into the engine and back around to the
radiator. The heat that the coolant
picked up from the engine is transferred
to the air at the radiator. Without the water pump, the coolant just
sits in the system.
WATER JACKETS – Its primary purpose
is to ensure the engine overheating in
an automobile, the cooling medium is
air, but larger engines often use a
liquid as the cooling medium. A water
jacket is a water-filled.

RADIATOR- The main part of the cooling

system in your vehicle and has the purpose of
keeping the engine coolant fluid at the proper
level .The coolant circulates throughout the
engine and keeps the engine components
from overheating. Cooling fins inside the
radiator cool the fluid as it passes over them.

COOLING FAN- A vital component in a

car cooling system, that helps takes
away all heat absorbed from the engine
using coolant .All its work is done
through the radiator by pushing or

pulling air through the radiator.

THERMOSTAT-Important components
in the car cooling system, its main
function is to regulate the circulation of
engine cooling from the radiator to
prevent overheating of the engine.
While the engine cooling system
functions so that the temperature
inside the engine remains at an ideal condition.

COOLANT-A fluid which flows through or

around the cylinders to prevent it from
overheating and transferring the heat to
the radiator.
IMPORTANCE OF KNOWING THE COMPONENTS OF COOLING
SYSTEM:
 Understanding the engine cooling system’s components
can help you better understand how the system functions
and that everything revolves around cycle. Additionally, it
would be helpful to understand how each section or
component in the system operates because doing so
would make it simpler to search for issues.
