3. Read an excerpt from the article “Our Aims” written by the staff of La Solidaridad on
February 15, 1889, and discuss what are the aims of the newspaper La Solidaridad.

 Accumulating liberals is the aim. ideas that are frequently shared in the
public in the field of politics, as well as in business, agriculture, and industry.
A nation looking primarily for democratic and domestic solutions.

4. Distinguish Jose Rizal’s involvement in the movement (La Solidaridad) and explain how
propaganda works.

 La Solidaridad (Solidarity), a fortnightly journal he created in Barcelona in


1889, became the main vehicle for the Propaganda Movement, garnering
readers from both Spain and the islands.

 The Propaganda Movement covered the acts of a group of Filipinos in the late
nineteenth century who worked for political reforms in their country and
authored books, posters, and newspaper articles to teach others about their
goals and the difficulties they were attempting to address.
