Reward Equivalent to Fasting & Praying

for every day of the year

‎‫صلَّى‬ َ ِ ‫ت َرسُو َل هَّللا‬ ُ ْ‫ َس ِمع‬: ‫عـن أوس بـن أوس الثقفي يقول‬
‫ ُث َّم‬،‫اغ َت َس َل‬ْ ‫ « َمنْ َغ َّس َل َي ْو َم ْال ُجم َُع ِة َو‬:ُ‫هللاُ َع َل ْي ِه َو َسلَّ َم َيقُول‬
‫ َودَ َنا ِم َن اِإْل َم ِام َفاسْ َت َم َع َو َل ْم‬، ْ‫ َو َم َشى َو َل ْم َيرْ َكب‬،‫َب َّك َر َوا ْب َت َك َر‬
ِ ‫ان َل ُه ِب ُك ِّل ُخ ْط َو ٍة َع َم ُل َس َن ٍة َأجْ ُر‬
‫ص َيا ِم َها َو ِق َيا ِم َها‬ َ ‫» َي ْل ُغ َك‬
From Aws bin Aws ath-Thaqafi who said
I heard the Messenger of Allaah
sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam saying:

'Whoever performs a perfect Ghusl on

Friday then goes very early to the
Khutbah, walking and not riding, sits
close to the Imam, listens and does not
speak or keep himself busy then for
every step towards the Khutbah is the
reward equivalent to a year of fasting
and praying.'

Al-Mulla Ali al-Qari -Rahimahullaah-

said:
'The people of knowledge say: 'We do
not know of a hadeeth of the Prophet
-sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- which has
more reward than this hadeeth.'

The Five Conditions are:

1 - Performing a Ghusl
2 - Going early to the Masjid
3 - Walking to the Masjid
4 - Sitting close to the Khateeb
5 - listening to the Khateeb and
remaining silent

Prophet (‫)ﷺ‬: "Whoever performs
ghusl perfectly on a Friday, leaves out &
arrives early, he walks & does not ride,
he sits close to the imām, he listens &
does not speak or fidget: for every step
there is for him a reward of a year's

Fidget definition: to make continuous,

small movements that annoy other
people. This indicates a lack of
concentration, that one is not listening to
the khutbah or paying attention to it.
Talking during the khutbah is prohibited,

Recommendation to recite Soorah Kahf

Question was asked to Shaykh
al-Uthaymeen:
Is reciting Soorah al-Kahf on the day of
Jummah or on Thursday night a
recommended deed?

The Shaykh answered:

‘Yes, reciting Soorah al-Kahf on the day

of Jummah is a recommended deed.
There is a virtue to this. There is no
difference if a person recites it from the
Mus-haf (Qur’aan) or from memory.’

Noor Between Two Jummas

From Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri

-RadhiAllaahu anhu- that the Prophet
-sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam – said:
 ِ ‫َمن قرأ سور َة {الكهف} في‬
“‫يوم الجمع ِة؛ أضاء له من‬
‫”النور ما بين الجمعتين‬.

‘Whoever reads Soorah al-Kahf on the

day of Jumma (Friday), light is
enlightened for him between the two
Jummahs.

The Best Prayer to Allah is Fajr on

Friday in Congregation

Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with

him) reported that the Messenger of
Allah (‫ )ﷺ‬said:
 ‫ْح َي ْو َم ْال ُجم َُع ِة ِفي‬ ُّ ‫ت ِع ْندَ هَّللا ِ ال‬
ِ ‫صب‬ ِ ‫ص َل َوا‬ َ ‫ِإنَّ َأ ْف‬
َّ ‫ض َل ال‬
‫اع ٍة‬
َ ‫َج َم‬

“‎ Verily, the best of Prayers to Allah is the

Fajr Prayer on Friday in congregation.”
