The inclusion of social studies in education helps learners grow up into

our country and the world, and the knowledge of one’s rights and duties as an
individual in society, helps learners become responsible citizens.
Learning about social studies has been of big help for us in facing the real
world. We came to understand the situations around us especially on how
society and government works. We are able to indulge into conversations and
have an exchange of information on civic relations discuss and criticize both
political and non-political system used in our country, and to reflect our values
and principles in building our nation.
For instance, during our elementary and high school days, our school
organize a clean-up drive along the coastal road and also on beautification of
the church. That was to promote cleanliness and responsibility of learners in
maintaining a place that is good for our health. We also took part on the
significant occasions such as fiestas and municipal anniversaries by
representing our talent in dancing and singing. Inside the school, we practiced
exercising our rights to vote through SPG election which was very crucial
especially now that we are on legal age. It is critical that as early as that time,
we were able to participate in promoting the quality of life in our community.
