Objectives Students can use digital and electronic tools to find facts about their

writing piece.

and pdf articles to conduct research to help support their opinions with
facts about their subject for their persuasive writing piece.

Differentiation
Strategies
Students will review Fact and opinion using a t- chart to distinguish between
phrases based on auditory phrases, then visual phrases being read aloud, and
then cartoon videos being acted out.
Once students are secure in the differences between fact and opinions, they
can turn and talk with their peers about how they “feel” and “think” about what

their favorite dogs are. This will be fun and either relatable, or argumentative
which will help solidify their understanding of what opinions are.
