General laboratory
Introduction

Clinic laboratory science is one of must important

specialty in the medical society because of 85% of
the medical decisions are depends on the result of
the clinic test , and.
The specialty of medical laboratories is known as
clinical laboratories or medical analysis. It is a
discipline that mainly combines chemistry and
biology, in which a medical laboratory scientist,
also known as a medical technologist or clinical
laboratory scientist, uses biotechnologies and
devices to analyze a variety of patients' biological
samples, such as: urine samples blood, tissue,
and other samples, using advanced equipment
such as microscopes; This is to help doctors
diagnose and treat various diseases, as the
results they reach play an important role in
identifying different diseases and ways to treat
them, such as: cancer, heart disease, diabetes,
.and others
Fields of work for the medical laboratory
specialization There are many possible
functional areas for holders of a medical
laboratory specialization certificate, the most
important of which are the following: [5]
Hospitals. Scientific research clinics.
Pharmaceutical companies, medical
equipment and supply companies. blood
banks. Medical volunteer organizations.
World Health Organization. A technician
specialized in medical laboratories, whether
forensic laboratories, molecular
biotechnology laboratories, or others.[1]
Veterinary clinics.[1] Industrial research.[1]

Staff

the microbiology hilmi altariqi supervisor

Serology : Nouf Al Husseini , senior specialist
General clinic chemistry: emad , senior specialist
Hematology: Amer ALENAZI , supervisor
Histology: fahad alqhtani, senior specialist
Blood bank : dalal alqadi , specialist
Instrumentation

Microbiology: cobas 6500 for urine analysis and

processing 10-1000 urine and bactec fx for add
bacteria in blood for 5-6 days to take result the
sample.and biotayper : engineeerd mass
spectrometry.

Histology:
Histostuir Inpeling for tissue and store .
Microtoma: for Hm355 for cut tissue

Haematology:
Centrefuge ,for saprite the blood
Sysmex XE-2100 ,for quick preform full blood
counts serology

Clinical chemistry
Roche cobas c- 501 for measure the levels the
glucose in the blood

Blood bank

Orthro vision, for type ABO blood also to do cross

machine before transfusion of blood
Blood collection monitors, for providing smooth
and gentle movements to mixing blood with
anticoagulant
Serology
Alinity, for pregnancy test
Nat, for several test like HIV

Some pictures for machine

Reporting of patient test result

The results from the HIS to LLIS

And For the machine and the special number for
the Patent or for his information and take the
results and for each patent have special Barcobe
For all information about him

Summary

After this experience I learned a lot of things in

the laboratory sciences and I learned about the
instruments and I know a lot of staff in the
hospital and the staff provide me almost in the
information for the lab and some thing and in the
future I want to be the specialist laboratory
sciences.
Clinical Chemistry

Instrument:

Alinity I: Chemiluminescence
Sample Type: Serum, plasma, whole blood, urine
Test example: Iron ,

Alinity C : Photometric, Potentiometric Sample

Type: Serum, plasma, urine, cerebrospinal fluid,
hemolysate, whole blood Test example: Cortisol,
SCC

Reporting of patient test result:

1 ‘ Analytical : Control and confirm that the
sample is safe
2 ‘PostAnalytical’ : The method of sample
transmission
3- preanalytical: before any testing, identify and
defining the patient in the computer system.

Some test :

Insulin , Cystic Fibrosis , Phenoketonuria , cortisol

Summary:

A private chemistry lab differs from a general

chemistry lab, as it is more complex and
has its own devices and analyzes.
it includes protein electrophoresis and
immunofixation, heavy metal analysis,
biochemical genetics, infectious disease and
autoimmune.
