1. Cite the importance of file sharing and give an example scenario were it’s worth was
proven.

FILE SHARING is a technology that allows two computers to transmit files over a network.
Transmission of file can happen within a network through peer to peer sharing or internet. The
purpose and main importance of file sharing is to give copies of digital, information and media
with ease and speed to all concern users. File sharing can be easily executed using file sharing
software or programs and websites like: GOOGLE DRIVE One Drive, and Dropbox.
There are times that we must need to give a copy of a file to someone who is operating the
computer far from us. The easiest way to do this is to use a file transfer program or websites.
File sharing websites support real-time, meaning when you upload a new file, any changes will
reflect quickly. Lastly, it supports multi- user. No matter how many users are working together,
they can edit the file at the same time. These features are also helpful because users won’t wait
the changes to happen. Updates are fast and efficient.
2. Cite the advantages and disadvantages of printer sharing.
Advantages
The Dot matrix printers are cheap and easily available in the market. They can make carbon
copies of the print out unlike non-impact printers. The printing costs are the lowest to other
printers. The print out fades gradually rather than coming to a halt suddenly. You therefore get
plenty of time to change the ribbon before crisis emerges. They use paper continuously unlike
other printers that require frequent change of paper. The maintenance cost is low as compared
to other printers. They tolerate dirty and hot conditions as are found in industrial
environments.
Disadvantages
The output is not high resolution. Color print out is limited and the print speed is also as
compared to non-impact printers. Therefore, the quality of print out is general is not very good.
This affects the scanner readability of the print out. The printer creates great deal of noise while
the pins strike the ribbon to the paper. The pins get bended easily destroying the print head.
The single sheet of paper has to wound and aligned by hand which is time-consuming and
hectic. This also makes it prone to jamming frequently, Although paper jamming can happen
with any printer, fixing it here is not an easy task. The density of barcodes is low and may fail to
match the user’s standards.
EXAMPLE SITUATION:
A shared peer to peer printer’s that’ heavily used can decrease the productivity and job
satisfaction the printer, because tending to printer becomes a distraction that occupies an
increasing amount of time.
