    Draw lines with no property assigned to help mesh an area for finite element analysis. Select the area along with lines of no property, then use the general divide tool in SAP2000. This will allow SAP2000 to account for the lines without properties when meshing the area using quadrilateral elements.

    lines/frames, then use the “General Divide Tool”


    shown below. SAP2000 will account for those null lines during meshing, but using quad elements.
