GOAL:
The purpose of this performance task is for you to raise awareness on how to minimize human impact on
the environment.

ROLE: You can either be a:

a. Article Writer
b. Graphic Artist
c. Discussant

SITUATION:
Earth Overshoot Day or Ecological Debt Day marks the time when human consumption of natural resources
exceeds the amount at which the Earth could replenish within a year. Simply put, this day occurs when the
human population has consumed its resources which was expected to last more than a year. In most cases,
the consumption of the natural resources does reach Overshoot Day, allowing Earth to replenish its
resources.

However, due to increasing human population, the demand for resources increases. The most recent Earth
Overshoot Day was July 29, 2019, and environmental activists are encouraging everyone to make their
contributions to move the day of Earth Overshoot Day as far as December 31.

To address this concern, you would be tasked to spread environmental awareness to human impact

PRODUCT/PERFORMANCE: You can choose one of the following products.

The task is to raise awareness to minimize human impact as a result of over population on the environment.
You may choose one from the following issues to serve as your focus or do a general awareness campaign.
a. Early Pregnancies
b. Sex education to be included in the curriculum
c. Family Planning

In terms of presenting your campaign, you may choose either of the following projects:
a. TED Talk – create a 10-minute video
b. Article Writing – create an article
c. Infographic/Poster – create an infographic/poster
