Subject: GENERAL BIOLOGY I

Grade Level & Section: G11
Quarter: First Semester
Title of the Unit: CELL
The learners demonstrate an understanding of cell structures and functions
Content Standard:
The learner shall be able to construct a 3D model of plant/animal/bacterial cell using recyclable
Performance Standard:
material
Date of Implementation: August 2022
Prepared by:

I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the student should be able to:
1. Describe the structure and function of different organelles in animal and plant cells.
2.Construct a 3D model of a plant and animal cell using edible materials.
3.Appreciate the value of creativity, patience and teamwork in doing a task.

1. Appreciate the real-life application of

Supplies for Cell Model
1.Various fruits and candies used to represent the parts of the cell: raisins, gummy worms (plain and sour), gumdrops, gum ball, jelly
beans, grapes, mandarin orange sections, sprinkles, M&M's, jaw breakers, a small stone fruit (like a plum), dried fruit, and/or hard
candy.
2. Bread
III. PROCEDURE
A. DAILY ROUTINE/Preliminaries:
1. Checking of Attendance
2. Review of the previous lesson
3. Impose safety rules and regulations prior to the start of the lesson and activities

B. EXPLORE:
The class will be divided into five groups. Scrambled letters will be flashed on the screen and the students should guess what
the word is. Answers shall be written on the illustration boards given. The group with the highest point wins.

C. FIRM UP:
The teacher will present a video clip on a 3-D Cell Model Construction. The class will be divided into five groups. Using the available materials, they have
on hand, the students will construct their model within 30 minutes. After the time given, the teacher will choose the best model.

D. DEEPEN:

Using a PowerPoint presentation, the teacher will present the topic using active learning and/or collaborative learning.

E. TRANSFER:
The group will going to present their output using the teacher-made rubric. (see attached rubric)
