PROBLEM: Online gamers sitting duration and awareness of sitting disease and its health risks.

OBJECTIVE: To know the risk of prolonged sitting.

RESEARCH QUESTION: How does online gaming affect the health of gamers?

Developments and improvements in technology have decreased the demand for physical activity, but
ultimately it is the responsibility of people for letting sedentary behaviors become lifestyles.

Since the middle of the last century, physical, economic, and social environments have been quickly
changing (Owen, et al., 2010). From jobs becoming involve a lot of time in sitting, to studying and even
doing leisure activities. Online gaming becomes popular nowadays since it does happiness and gamers
could gain sustainable cash from it. One common way for them to generate money is by going streaming
their games. Through views and gifts, they will get benefits and in exchange, their viewers spend their
spare time avoiding boredom. One whole game match depends on what game they are playing, an
average play time last for 30 mins and so streaming time will possibly last for 10 hours day by day. Their
set-up was to sit in front of their computer and lean their heads on their phones or monitor. Aside from
screen time could affect their health sitting for that long time could cause risks too.

There have been studies that suggest situations in which someone spends hours sitting in one place can
increase the risk of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT). But this can happen with any stationary leisure activity
– including watching television, listening to music, or reading a book.
