Hidilyn Bestows Equipments, Earns Appreciation

Philippines First Olympic Gold Medalist and World Champion Hidilyn Diaz gifted the
neophytes of weightlifting in Midsalip, Zamboanga Del Sur with one pair 20 kilogram and a
pair 15 kilogram barbell plates, small barbell plates and 34 pcs. rubber base.

On top of that Mr. Roberto Francisco Colonia, Midsalip weightlifter coach, voiced his special
thanks to the first Filipino World and Olympic Champion for endowing the beginners of the
weightlifting team with new equipment which would probably be a great help in molding and
discovering their potentials in the sport.

Mr. Colonia also further thanked Mr. Allen Diaz and Hon. Elmer M. Soronio, Municipal Mayor
of Midsalip ZDS, for the assistance in transporting the equipment to reach Midsalip.

"Si Hidilyn sa una pa na siya nagahatag na para sa mga athletes diri sa Midsalip, wala pa
sya naka medal sa Olympics, ug sa lain nga lugar na naa weightlifting club. Malipayon kami
sa kanunay niya na pag extend sa mga equipment labi na ang mga bag-o niya na gihatag
na mga lifting shoes, t-shirt, weightlifting belt." said Mr. Colonia about the gifts that they
received from Hidilyn Diaz.

He also added, “Ako bilang isa na tumutulong sa mga bata dito sa Midsalip, para pumasok
sila sa sports (weightlifting) masaya syempre kasi meron isang Olympic Gold Medalist na
naniniwala sa kakayahan ko mag produce din ng isang Olympian tulad niya".
