my house, but it was raining that day, and my GPS was acting up on me, so I had to be really

One of the biggest difficulties camps like Camp Kudzu have is with showing new
volunteers the ropes. The biggest problem is time; volunteers are already taking time out of their
(sometimes very busy) schedules to volunteer at weeklong summer camps and aren’t always
willing (or able) to take several more days off to learn the procedures that come with being a
medically specialized camp. Even so when Dr. G asked the shortest orientation was 6 hours.
Since I’m an intern and haven’t been to one of Camp Kudzu’s summer camp sessions, I wasn’t
able to contribute very much while Anna and Caroline were using what we learned from the
panel to revamp the orientation procedures. However, I paid attention and contributed where I
could, doing my best to utilize everything I’d learned so far from interning, the DECA
