Configure the network resource and download the software

Task 1. Configure your computer to use the following network resources.

a. IP Address – Provided by your Invigilator
b. Subnet Mask – 255.255.255.0
c. Default Gateway (Router) – 192.168.3.1
d. Preferred DNS – 192.168.3.1

Task 2. Make a default home page under this task should

Task 2.1 browses a webpage” www.bbc.co.uk”
Task 2.2 makes the webpage as default home page
Task 2.3 browses dell website and make favorites (Bookmark)

Task 3. Download a file from the internet under this task should
Task 3.1Download IDM (internet download manager) using the browser.
Task 3.2 downloads a pdf file “a brief history of internet “.
Task 3.3 create a folder called internet on the desktop.
Task 3.4 copy the download pdf file to this folder internet.
Task 4. downloads software and driver from the internet under this task should
Task 4.1 Download internet browser software “Google chrome”.
Task 4.2 Install the download software.
Task 4.3 The Google chrome browser home page set in to Google search
engine.
Task 4.4 set the default browser software to Google chrome.
Task 4.5 Download the Dell desktop OptiPlex 745 LAN driver software for
windows7 operating system.
Task 4.6 Google Chrome browser in to Bookmark set Dell web site page.

Task 5. Access and use internet

Task 4.1 Create a new email account the first email account name cpu and
any Choice the email web site.

Task 6. Establish a peer to peer network

1. To create a network cable you will need a crimper that is capable of

crimping a RJ-45 connecter.
2. Establish a network connection between the two computers with hub or
switch.
3. Test the computer connectivity (ping).
4. Assign computer name for both computers pc1 & pc2.
5. Assign work group name for both computers cpu.
6. Show the iP address on your computer using Dos command.
7. Show the computer name on your computer using Dos command.
8. Share the folder in your computer.
9. Access the shared folder by computer name.
10.Access the shared folder by ip address.
11.Connect a printer and install the appropriate driver.
12.Test print for both computer.
13.Print documents from a network computer.

Task 7. Write your computer hardware Specification and save by file name
hardware specification.

7. Design a Non-Action Query (Select Query) that selects female patients whose age
is below 20 and save the query by the name Female 20.
8. Create a Marketable query which allows you to create a new table by the name
Health having fields only D-Name, P-Name and P-Sex .Save your query by the
name Make Table.
9. Create aQuery which accesses P-Country of patients and displays all patients that
belong to the same Countrysave the query by the name City.
10. Create a Report using the fieldsP-Name, P-Sex,D-Name using wizard. Use
“DOCTORS’ REPORT” as a title.
