THE HOLY PROPHET (SAW) LOVE FOR HUMANITY

Verily, you have in the prophet of Allah an excellent model for him who fears
Allah and the last day and remembers Allah much.

(Surah Al Ahzab 33:22)

The Holy Prophet's life has been described by Hazrat Ayesha as

‫كان خلقه القرآن‬

That is, his life was Qur'an personified.

He loved and treated all aspects of mankind in the best manner which we must
emulate and admonished us with respect to love of mankind accordingly.

For the poor, he said to his wife Hazrat Ayesha;

“O Ayesha, love the poor and let them come to you and Allah will draw you
near to himself” (Sahih Bukhari)

Holy Prophet (saw) cared so much about the sentiments of women that he
concluded the prayer quickly when he heard the cry of a child clarifying that he
thought that the mother of the child would be in distress from the cry .

During his last days one of the injunctions, he addressed to the Muslims and
laid stress thereupon was that women should be treated with kindness and
consideration.

Concerning love and good treatment of parents the Holy Prophet states that:

“Unlucky is the man, unlucky is the man, unlucky is the man whose parents live
to old age and he fails to earn paradise by not serving them.”
He loved children and respected them. Hazrat Usama bin Zaid (ra) states that
when he was a child he was picked up by the Holy Prophet and put on one
knee and Holy Prophet put Hassan his grandson on his other knee and
embraced them both and prayed; ‘O my Lord show them mercy as I am
showing them mercy ‘.

Hazrat Usama bin Zaid reported this incident with tears in his eyes as it left an
indelible mark on him

With respect to neighbors, he always treated them with kindness and

consideration. He said that Angel Gabriel had emphasized consideration
towards one's neighbors so often that he sometimes begun to think that a
neighbor is included among one's heirs

In conclusion, the Holy Prophet is a paragon of love which we must emulate.
