HOW TO LAND AN OLLIE

GIRL SKATEBOARDS
The Ollie is a skateboarding skill that other tricks use to get the board up off the ground. Whether skating in the street, on

the sidewalk, or at the skatepark, the Ollie is a useful trick for getting around on your board. An instructional guide of How

to Land an Ollie demonstrates the proper form and steps for this trick to an audience of intermediate skaters.

Materials:
Are you ready?
 Skateboard
 I can kick-turn
 Knee pads
 I can safely push-off/ride my skateboard
 Helmet
 I can safely stop my skateboard
 Flat surface

CAUTION: Unless you are practicing on grass or another tacky surface, your board will resume motion after landing an Ollie. Girl

Skateboards highly recommends supervision and the use of safety equipment for new skaters.

Instructions:
STEP#1
Place your dominant foot in the middle of the board (with toes
towards the back of the deck) and your non-dominant foot on the
tail of the board (with pinky-toe hanging off the end.)

STEP#2
Bend your knees, using your arms to keep balance, and prepare to
draw your dominant leg (the one at the front of the board) up to
your chest.
STEP#3
As you draw your dominant knee upward, simultaneously push the
tail of your board down with your non-dominant foot. During this
motion, the edge of your dominant foot should slide across the
board.

STEP#4
While keeping your knees bent, flick the board with the edge of your
dominant foot (to level it out) as soon as your dominant foot reaches
the nose of the board.

STEP#5
Continue to use your arms for balance as your board returns to the
ground.

STEP#6
Bend your knees when landing back on the ground (to absorb
shock.)
