RATIONAL NUMBERS
SOLUTION- cannot be filtered but can be separated using
the process of distillation.
SUSPENSION- mixture of a fluid that contains solid particles IRRATIONAL NUMBERS
sufficiently large for sedimentation
COLLOID- substance consisting of particles substantially
larger than atoms or ordinary molecules but too small to be
visible to the unaided eye INTEGERS
MATTER- anything that occupies space and has mass
PURE SUBSTANCES- substances that are made up of only
WHOLE NUMBERS
one kind of particles and has a fixed or constant structure
ELEMENT- made up of a particular kind of atom and cannot
be broken down
