Dear Kendrick Vann,

First I’d like to start out by saying thank you. Not only for the internship, but also the

opportunity to meet important members of the community, lead my own program, and further

my engagement with not only the youth but the entire community. My time at Aycock

Recreation Center has allowed me to obtain hands-on experience and greater knowledge on

certain aspects of my degree.

Working alongside Jamal Williams, Crystal Allen, De’Anne Brown, Jocelyn Hardy, Darius

Pitt, Shantel Hargrove, Dominique Bullock and yourself is what I cherish the most from this

internship, the leadership skills that you all have demonstrated is what made me enjoy this

internship the most. I’ve learned through-out my years of working it’s important to have strong

examples of leadership within any establishment.

These last few months spending time as a WSSU Intern at the Henderson-Vance Recreation &

Parks Department was not only a learning experience but a blessing to me. Being granted the

opportunity to obtain insightful knowledge from the department staff while also feeling

comfortable enough to ask questions is always the healthy work environment I hope to work in.

While my time as an intern has come to an end, working in the Henderson-Vance Recreation

& Parks Department was a phenomenal hands-on learning experience for me. Furthermore,

without your help this opportunity would not have been possible for me. So again, I just want to

say thank you for the experience, knowledge, and advice.
