I. O BJ E CTIV E S At the end of the 2-hr class, the students must be able to:

Knowledge:
define the knob and tube wiring method;

Skills:
explain the knob and tube wiring method; and

Attitude:
observe the safety precaution in using knob and tube wiring method.

A. Content Standard The learner demonstrates understanding and underlying principles in the installation of
electrical lighting system, auxiliary outlets and lighting fixtures.

B. Performance Standard The learner independently installs electrical lighting system, auxiliary outlets and
lighting fixtures based on the Philippines Electrical Electrical Code (PEC) standards
and local code/utility Company Regulations.

III. PROCEDURES
Prayer, Checking of attendance and review the past topics.
A. Awareness
Motivation will be through “Mystery Box”. (Call student to open the box) Inside the box
are printed photos, three (3) envelopes containing letters, cloth, pins, thumbtacks and
a letter. (Read the letter place on the top)

B. Activity -Divide the class into 3 groups and distribute to each group the envelopes and photos
coming from the mystery box. They shall analyze the letters provided to form a word. In
every envelope, there are instructions and procedures how to make the skirting styles.
Students are going to discuss and say something about their words to form and report
it to the class.

C. Analysis How do you find the activity?


Was it easy or difficult to determine the words and its definition? Why?
What is the knob and tube wiring method?
Do you think you can perform knob and tube wiring?
What do you think is the purpose of safety reminders in installing knob and tube
wiring?

D. Abstraction -Explain first the importance of HYGIENE and MISE EN PLACE in making table
skirting. Emphasize strict observance of (OHS) Occupational Health and Safety most
especially using the skirting pins and thumbtacks. Then, proceed in demonstrating
correctly the safety handling of pins and locking pins.
E. Application -1. By group there will be interactive application and practice on the basic styles in
table skirting.
2. Process students’ learning through finding practical application of concepts and
skills in daily living. How they can apply it in their lives?
