A STUDY IN THE MOST PREFERRED LAPTOP BRAND AMONG COLLEGE

STUDENTS AT DAGUPAN CITY

OBJECTIVES:
- To find out the most preferred laptop brand among college students from
three different schools at Dagupan City.
- To learn and understand the specific qualifications before considering to buy
laptop based on its brand.

SURVEY DESIGN
To fulfill our study, we provided an online survey consisting of questions that may help
us in our study. Each questions was made to obtain the information needed to help us
understand and accomplish what we are aiming to know.
Via google form to conduct a survey, we asked the respondents’:
(1) Demographic Information
(2) Which of the following laptop features are most important to you?
(3) Which Laptop Brand do you prefer?
(4) Why do you prefer this Laptop Brand?

To be able to accomplish the data we needed, we used the online surveying tool
as a method of data collection. This method gave us the advantage to use internet
and social networking sites. This also helped us reach the desired number of
respondents in a short period of time. By this, we were able to overcome the usage
of papers and time consumed.

DATA COLLECTION

In our study, we collected data from a diverse group of 30 respondents, which


consists of 10 Students from L-NU, 10 Students from PHINMA Upang, and 10
Students from Universidad de Dagupan. These respondents were from different
programs or courses and who uses laptop as their learning device.
The respondents was found 19-23 years old.This finding is particularly noteworthy,
as it suggests that this age group may be particularly relevant to the topic under
investigation. By including the respondents from three different schools, we were
able to gain more comprehensive understanding about our topic, as well as able to
compare and contrast the perspectives of different students.

DATA ANALYSIS

The researchers calculated the following descriptive statistics to better understand


the distribution and central tendencies of the gathered data. These statistics serve as
useful measures of the overall characteristics of our sample, and provide important
insights into the variability and pattern of our data.

In addition to calculating the descriptive statistics, we also used data visualization
techniques to better understand and present our findings. Specifically, we have
created a bar graph to display the distribution of most preferred laptop brand among
our respondents.

INTERPRETATION AND FINDINGS

Based on the data collected from respondents of three different schools through
survey, we were able to identify some interesting and important findings related to
their preferences on having and buying a laptop.

Our analysis revealed that in terms of having a laptop based on its brand, Acer
aced it to the top with the total percentage of 50%, followed by Asus (23%), Lenovo
(13.3%), Dell (6.7%), HP and Huawei (3.3%).

CONCLUSIONS AND FINDINGS


Given our findings that Acer and Asus are popular among three different
schools, we have predicted that these brands are likely to be purchased by the
college students for their daily use. This information could be useful for students who
still seeks for a laptop brand to buy.

Thus, we recommend that buyers or students should be more mindful before


purchasing a laptop based on its brand. The data shown can be helpful yet need to
consider the factors that may affect its consumers’ lifestyle. It is important to consider
the budget allocated for buying a good quality yet affordable laptop to prevent
financial sortage, In some way, If consumers are on a tight budget but need a new
laptop, considering buying one through installment payments may be a good option
to spread out the cost over time. As per research, we have found out that there are a
lot of appliances and gadgets outlets that offer this kind of purchase method.

In addition, The laptop brand manufacturers can focus on developing the


important features found in this study and make their brands successful with their
consumers when they come to purchase laptops. Brand preference for laptop
purchase can be increased by focussing on the desired aspects.

REFLECTION

During our study, we acquired valuable insights into the difficulties and benefits
of creating and performing a survey, as well as examining and interpreting the
gathered data. It's true that designing and carrying out a survey requires meticulous
preparation and accuracy, as even minor mistakes in survey design or administration
can significantly impact the quality and precision of the data gathered. Additionally,
analyzing the collected data may be a time-consuming process, but it's vital to
guarantee precise and dependable results. By utilizing statistical analysis methods,
we were able to recognize trends and patterns in the data that would have been
challenging to detect otherwise. These techniques allowed us to draw significant
conclusions and provide well-informed recommendations based on our findings. In
conclusion, we found the experience of creating and conducting a survey to be both
challenging and rewarding. Throughout this process, we gained a deeper
understanding of statistical analysis techniques and their application in real-world
settings. We also learned the importance of paying attention to detail and planning
carefully when conducting research, as well as the value of critical thinking and
analysis in deriving meaningful conclusions from data.
