It has been Maadhyam’s endeavour to introduce the best practices in international and domestic conflict resolution and ensure that India develops the best professionals in the field of conflict resolution, Now, Maadhyam brings this International Mediator Accreditation Programme to train and assess mediators to be SIMI Accredited Mediators Level 1. The Programme will be conducted by SAGE Mediation, a SIMI Qualifying Assessment Program (QAP). Sage Mediation’s mediation programmes have been endorsed by the International Mediation Institute, Singapore International Mediation Institute and the Swiss Chamber of Commercial Mediators. ‘WHY SHOULD YOU APPLY FOR THIS TRAINING ? * Role of amediator is fast evolving with the growing popularity of mediation as an alternate dispute resolution process in conflict resolution. . Singapore Convention of 2019 has expanded the global landscape with reference to cross-border mediation making it imminent for mediators to equip themselves with the necessary skills and be updated on the fast-evolving global practices. . Mediation is now mandated prior to litigation in many legislations including intellectual property, commercial disputes, consumer law, cross border disputes and international insolvency with focus on domain expertise. * India’s Mediation Bill, expected to be passed soon by Parliament, will create new and exciting challenges for India’s ease of doing business for which swift mediated settlements especially of corporate disputes will become necessary. An efficient system of settling disputes will send positive signals to foreign investors about India's commitment to adhere to international practice on mediation.ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA Practicing Mediators who have completed at least 40 hours of training by a SIMI registered training provider or any other credible mediation training agency including Maadhyam and MCPC, All participants must submit written documentation confirming that they have completed such training. SAGE Mediation reserves the right to disentitle participation in case of insufficient documentation. PROGRAMME DETAILS This residential programme aims to accredit mediators for effective resolution of high stakes disputes in accordance with the principles proposed by SIMI. It includes assessment of candidates by Sage Mediation, both written and oral, designed to be one of the most stringent SIMI accreditation programmes. All assessors will be mediators from Sage Mediation. ASSESSMENT FORMAT The accreditation comprises assessment at 4 stages: + Online Solo Mediation + Pre-mediation and Co-mediation + Theoretical Knowledge of Professional Ethics of a Mediator + Theoretical Knowledge of Inter-Culture Aspects of Mediation Each assessment stage needs to be cleared to qualify for SIMI accreditation.
