Instructions: Determine the possible communication blocks on the following situations:
1. A written letter of complaint
Answer: a written letter of complaint Possible communication block is physical barrier. Poor
stationary used, unpleasant layout of letter or the way it has been written.
Effective complaint letters explain the problem and how you’d like the company to resolve it. Try
to be clear and include only the details you need to describe the problem and the resolution you
want. Use a sample letter to write a complaint about a product or service. Avoid writing an
angry, sarcastic, or threatening letter. The person reading it probably didn’t cause the problem,
but may be very helpful in resolving it.

2. An interaction between a nurse and a patient in pain.


Answer: Competing demands, lack of privacy, and background noise are all potential barriers to
effective communication between nurses and patients. Patients' ability to communicate
effectively may also be affected by their condition, medication, pain and/or anxiety.
When entering the room of patients in pain, always tell them that you are there to help comfort
them and to do your best to relieve their pain, Remain calm and show empathy, Express
concerns for the patient’s feelings, Encourage patients to write down their questions in
preparation for appointments. An organized list of questions can facilitate conversation on topics
important to the patient. A form for writing down questions can be given to patients on their
arrival at the office, Advocate for increasing the duration of visits to provide the opportunity to
address multiple patient concerns. Increased time for visits is crucial in efforts to improve
patient-centered interviewing, shared decision-making, and improved patient-physician
communication. Even though it seems like a physical problem with a purely technical solution,
treating the patient is an equally important part of treating pain.

3. A song with figurative langauge


Answer:The common blocks in songs with figurative language is perception barrier. Not
everyone understands The metaphor, simile, hyperbole and metonymy.
Figurative language is one of the languages used in literary works, especially in song lyrics. It is
often used to help songwriters create beautiful songs by conveying unusual words in song
lyrics. It also gives the right role to the reader or listener.
