    USE YOUR GLASS INSTEAD OF PAPER CUP

    Food and beverage industry have been improved lately, the system and innovation
    followed the progression as well. In order to satisfy the customers with efficiency and hygiene,
    paper cup comes as an easiest solution to take. But, is it the best solution?

    Paper cup known as cheap, light, and practical material for take-away beverage. It cuts
    out the health problems that may be caused by sharing cutlery and cups. Paper cup initially
    made in China only for drinking tea, it was made by sealed the bottom part and the cup wall
    using wax, it is spun in high speed to distribute the wax all over the cup wall. But in further
    development, they coated the board with thin layer of PE (polyethylene), the most common
    plastic used in our daily basis, in order to make the board stable and not soaked by water.
    Meaning, it is hard to recycle and compost the paper cup. In addition, 70% single use paper
    made from diminishing forest, not from plantations or recycling since recycled board is less
    wanted due to some health risk concerns. Survey has proven that paper cup consumer has
    increased more than tenfold over 20th century, up to 560 kg of waste per person per year. To
    take it into account, the paper cup is not more environment friendly than plastic cup.

    So, what should we do?

    Conventional cup is enough. It is reusable, personal and got pretty appearance.


    Reusable cup that made with stainless steel material got a point plus with its light weighted. We
    can print our name or any picture on it. For some people, cup has sentimental value or even
    taken as their identity. There are people who only drink their drinks using one cup for ever, it
    seems like the drink is not delightful enough if they drink it from another cup. There are also
    some group of people that always bring their own high-end bottle as their identity as
    environment activist. Nowadays, it is not a strange habit to bring our own cup to the restaurant,
    there are plenty of them who already joint the campaign to get rid of single use packaging.
    Conventional cup or glass also has visual value on their appearance, we rarely find them have
    unpleasant appearance, even they come in plain or clear design. Furthermore, we always could
    make sure of our own cup cleanliness and hygiene if we wash it by our own hand.

    Hence, single use cup is no more needed in our earth.
