Office of the Sheriff, October Narcotics Update


May 2nd, 2023

The Narcotics Division with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office has continued an extended
drug investigation resulting in 84 individuals receiving 189 indictments or warrants directly
related to drug activity.

These charges from the April 17, 2023 Grand Jury, in Ages of Arrestees
addition to warrants obtained recently in General District
Court, include some of the following charges: 17% 18%
18-30
Possession and/or Sale of Schedule I, II, III, IV, V Drugs 31-50
Possession with Intent to Manufacture Sch I/II
51-70
Manufacture/Distribute Sch I, II, III, IV, VI Drugs 65%
Distribute Meth > = 10g
Obtaining Prescription Medication by Fraud
Drug Sale On/Near School Property
Firearms Possession related to Drug Activity

Sheriff Overton would like to recognize the significant Gender of Arrestees


hard work, dedication, and time that members of this
office give to this cause each and every day. Many of
these cases go unseen to the general public, although they

continue to work diligently to combat the substance 40%

reach out for help. The local Piedmont Regional
Community Service Board is located at 30 Technology Drive in Rocky Mount and has various
resources to help with substance use.
