The Contemporary World
Second Semester S.Y 2021-2022
For me, it’s a state that embraces change and new perspectives on globalization.
2. How is globalization changing the overall balance of power between states and citizens?
Nowadays, we are unsure what it will take for states to respect a broader range of rights, including civil
and political rights, as well as social and economic rights, which are necessary for citizens to thrive but
have taken a back seat in the current political climate. States define the objectives for the world's
largest international organizations, from the United Nations to the World Trade Organization, as well as
the rules of cooperation that govern them. States are also responsible for developing and enforcing the
common standards that emerge from these organizations.
3. How does the resilience of states both advance and inhibit democracy and how democratic is a world of
globally interconnected states?
Well, a state's resiliency can demonstrate its ability to bounce back after experiencing challenges
brought on by globalization. It also demonstrates their ability to adapt to a rapidly changing world and
their willingness to embrace globalization. A world of globally networked governments will almost
certainly demonstrate the importance of the people's voice in democracy. Every citizen will have a say
in administration, the economy, and how accepting they are of the culture and race of other countries,
all of which can help each state improve and thrive.
