aircraft carpet for your A320 program.
Lantal is the leading manufacturer of soft interiors and services for the airline industry. Lantal has been manufacturing
high quality textiles since 1886 and has been serving the airline industry specifically since 1954. In order to meet
highest quality, safety and sustainability criteria, Lantal believes that it is essential to control full-value chain in-house.
Here at Lantal, we operate our own inhouse spinning and weaving mills as well as backcoating, cutting, sewing and
serging.
In order to guarantee the best-in-class quality, Lantal additionally operates an in-house laboratory which is AIRBUS
and NEDCAP approved. This allows us to test all of our products immediately and ensure highest quality criteria are
met and continuously improve Lantal products on all three parameters: weight, durability and sustainability.

2.1 Product information Carpet 100% wool

Wool carpets are natural, high performance floor coverings for hospitable aircraft cabin interiors. Longevity, high
underfoot comfort, and suppression of static charging are assets of Lantal's pure wool carpets.

Lantal wool standard carpets have the following compelling advantages:

 Dense, mottled surface

 Hardwearing, excellent service life
 Many design possibilities
 High walking comfort
 Permanent static charging suppression even at only 10% rel. humidity
 Compliance with all airworthiness requirements

Dimensional stability
Within 0.5% shrinkage when wet cleaned by spray extraction according to Lantal cleaning recommendations.

Sustainable
Wool is a natural fiber and thus a renewable resource.

Service lifetime
Aisles approx. 4 – 8 months
Under seats approx. 12 – 18 months
*The specific service lifetime depends largely on the airline’s interior philosophy (colors, quality), routing (long-haul,
short-haul), geographical routes, load factors and cleaning attitudes.

Hardwearing: Hexapod test grade 3.0 – 3.5 out of 5

Soiling: The wool fiber has intrinsic properties to prevent soiling. The natural oils and the structure of the fiber absorb
the dirt and make it less visible.

Dimensional stability
Our carpets have a very good dimensional stability of ±0.5% or better, which fulfills the Airbus specification EN986
(≤1%) as well as the Boeing specification BSS 7310 (±0.5%). To avoid shrinkage during use, please refer to our
recommendations regarding cutting & serging, installation and cleaning.

Specification
Lantal carpets are permanently flame-resistant in accordance with FAR/CS 25.853, 12 sec. vertical, and meet the
Airbus (ABD0031) and Boeing (BMS 8-237) specifications for smoke and toxicity if cleaned according to Lantal cleaning
recommendations.

Recommended application
All classes and short- and long-haul flights.

Aircraft
Products for the aviation industry may be custom designed or sourced from existing stock
collections and include upholstery fabrics, curtains, velvets, carpets, leathers, blankets,
antimacassars, and wall coverings. Each of these products meets the latest specifications of the
international civil aviation industry. Over 300 airlines and all of the world’s major aircraft and
seat manufacturers are among our customers.

Ground
High-grade, particularly hardwearing velvets and flat weaves as well as carpets are the core
business in the bus and train markets. Coachbuilders, tour operators, and public mass transit
organizations are the principal buyers.

Executive
Exquisite seat cover fabrics, finest leathers, curtain fabrics and hand-tufted carpets bring luxury
into the cabins of executive jets.

Parts
Seat covers, carpets, curtains and literature pockets are delivered in a ready-to-install state by
Lantal.
The air-filled Pneumatic Comfort Seat (PCS) cushions replace conventional foam cushions in
Business and First Class seats, offering unmatched seating and sleeping comfort alongside
significant weight reductions. From June 1st 2020 on, Caynova AG has the entire responsibility
for Lantal’s Pneumatic Comfort System (PCS), Heating and Cooling System (HCS) and Personal Fan
System (PFS).

Services
Lantal's spectrum of services embraces design, engineering, logistics, laboratory testing, project
management, warehousing and customer support, the procurement, development, production,

 In-house capabilities
Lantal is capable of offering total solutions from a single source, from design development to production and
warehousing. We also provide ready-to-install products such as sewn seat covers, antimacassars, pleated curtains and
pre-cut carpets. Lantal is able to issue and approve minor changes at the aircraft level and to apply for Supplemental
Type Certificate (STC), based on its EASA Design Organization Approval.

Approvals and certificates

The safety of our products and their compliance with all relevant standards and specifications are pivotal factors in
our customer relationships. This is why we place great emphasis on obtaining the applicable approvals and
certifications. With sustainable success. Our in-house laboratories in Switzerland and the USA consistently assure that
we live up to the highest quality standards. The following standards and certifications govern Lantal’s operations:

Airworthiness and quality

Lantal is approved by the:
 Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) as Production Organization (PO) since 2005

Lantal’s quality management is certified according to:

Lantal is also listed in the OASIS database for international suppliers of the aviation industry.

Lantal’s laboratory is accredited as a center for fire tests pursuant to:

Since 1978 Lantal has had a fully certified in-house laboratory and test facilities – including test chamber for
seat burn tests – and conducts tests according to the regulations of the international airline authorities.

OEM approvals and recognitions

Lantal also has a long history of supplying Airbus and Boeing and is therefore an approved carpet supplier of Airbus
and Boeing. We received repeatedly the following recognitions:
 Airbus: Lantal achieved an A-Rating in terms of quality and delivery and has the best performance in terms of
dimensional stability of all carpet suppliers.
 Boeing: Lantal received the “Boeing Performance Excellence Award” for achieving excellent supplier
performance.
