To analyze Non-Inverting Amplifier

Aim:
 To design a Non-Inverting Amplifier using Op-Amp IC 741.
 Tostudythedesignedamplifiersandestablishtherelationshipbetweeninputand output
waveforms.
 To calculate gain ACL of Non-Inverting amplifier by using different values of feedback
Resistor.
Theory:
The input signal Vi is applied to the Non-inverting input terminal and the inverting input
terminal of the op-amp is grounded. The output voltage Vo is fed back to the inverting input
terminal through the (RF- R1) network, where RF is the feedback resistor.

Figure 1 Circuit Diagram of Non-Inverting Amplifier

The output voltage is given

as,
Vo = ACLVi
Here the input and output waveforms will be in phase.
Procedure:

1. Design and construct the Non-inverting amplifier circuit shown in Figure 1.

2. Select resistors values R1=1 kΩ., RF=10 kΩ Variable.
3. + Vcc and - Vcc supply is given to the terminals 4 and 7 of the Op-Amp IC respectively.
4. Connect a dual-trace oscilloscope to monitor the input and output waveforms.
5. Apply a 1 KHz sinusoidal signal and adjust the signal amplitude to give an output of peak
to peak amplitude of 2 V as displayed on an oscilloscope.
6. The output voltage is obtained in the Oscilloscope
7. Measure the output peak amplitude, calculate the voltage gain by using formula:

Acl= vo / vi
8. Compare this Gain with theoretical gain calculated from formula:

Acl= 1+ (RF / R1)

9. Calculate value of error and fill out the table.
10. Plot input and output waveforms on graph sheet
11. Keeping the input voltage constant at 2 volts p-p, change (change your peak to peak
according to your readings ) resistor RF according to table and record your result by
repeating steps 6, 7, 8 and 9.
12. Repeat Procedures 3 through 6 with a non-sinusoidal input waveform of different
amplitude and frequency.
