Amendments 11-27

11th – immunity of states from certain lawsuits

12th – consists of changes to the electoral procedure


Election of 1800

13th – ended slavery

14th – defined citizenship; its due process and equal protection clauses protect civil rights infringement

15th – prohibits any restrictions on the right to vote based on race, color, or previous servitude.

16th – federal income tax

17th – direct election of senators

18th – prohibits the sale and consumption of alcohol.

19th – women’s right to vote

20th – changed starting dates for presidential & congressional terms

21st – repealed prohibition (18th Amendment)

22nd – limits President’s terms to 2

23rd – gives citizens of the District of Columbia the right to vote for Pres and VP

24th – no poll taxes

25th – set the procedures for determining presidential disability, presidential succession and filling VP
vacancy

26th – voting age at 18

27th – congressional pay raises take effect after the next congressional election.
