What’s the difference?

When I arrived home, I organized my bedroom.

When I arrived home, I had called mom.

Future in the past:

Going to >> Was going to
Future in the past means that an action was planned or expected at a time in the past (before now).

- Use was/were going to or would + base form to describe future in the past actions or states.
- Would + base form
- Everything depends on the timemarker

Examples:

- She would go to parties before she got married. (past)

- She would go to the party next week (future)
