1. What customer profiling activities/concepts did you observe in the video? What are the benefits of
having a customer profile in the tourism and hospitality industry?
2. Explain your perspective on the phrase: “Understanding your Customer is Key.” How can this perspective
impact your future career in the tourism and hospitality industry?

Answer:
1. Customers are surveyed by writing down their responses, and demographic and psychographic
profiling are used to learn more about them, according to the acts I see shown in the video on customer
profiling. In marketing, customer profiling refers to the process of discovering, categorizing, and
specifying your target market. The benefit of this strategy is that it enables hotels to get a greater insight
of their guests' behavior, characteristics, and interests than they would otherwise have. It enables them
to communicate more effectively while also providing much-needed structure to a marketing campaign.
Using this information, we can better understand what the ideal customer is looking for, what is most
important to them, and how to interact with them successfully. If you understand what makes
individuals happy, pleased, and even loyal, you can build long-term relationships with them and make
them less responsive to competitive pressures. Finally, customer profiling increases the likelihood of
profitability. As a result, you will save both time and money since you will not be wasting your time and
money on people who are not interested in your product or service. You will get a higher rate of return
on your financial investment.

2. It is critical to fully know your customer's requirements. Understanding your clients is critical to your
business's long-term success. Consider the demographics of your target audience, as well as what they
genuinely want. Many innovative company ideas fail because they do not meet the needs of clients who
are relevant to the market. Prior to anything else, it's necessary to have a fundamental awareness of
certain difficult realities. It has already been said that demographics may help you in developing a rough
grasp of who your target market is. In order to bring your customers to life, create personas that include
key characteristics such as needs, behavior, and price sensitivity. The creation of personas is essential for
marketing success. It provides you with access to data that will assist you in developing your marketing
strategy and exposing the tactics you should be using. Consequently, it will have a huge positive impact
on my future career in the sector, as I will be able to manage my work with customers and collaborate
with them in a more straightforward manner using this method in the future.
