Climate Plans Remain Insufficient: More Ambitious Action Needed Now

The article discusses the lack of ambition in countries' climate plans, according to a
new UN Climate Change report. The report reveals that the current commitments of
countries would only limit global warming to 3.3°C, far above the 1.5°C goal set out in the
Paris Agreement. To meet the 1.5°C goal, the report suggests that countries must take much
more ambitious action by increasing their emissions reduction targets, investing in renewable
energy, and phasing out fossil fuels.
My reaction to this article is one of concern. The fact that countries are not taking the
necessary steps to reach the 1.5°C goal is alarming, and it is essential that more ambitious
action is taken immediately to help avert the worst impacts of climate change. We need to
make sure that our leaders are taking this seriously and implementing the necessary measures
to make sure we reach our climate goals.
 This article also shows the great impact of social media because with this article, the
“netizens” or the people who use the internet became more aware of what is happening to the
planet Earth that we live in.
