Siahaan and Hutasuhut (2019) entitled “Factors Affecting Students’ Decision in Choosing a Study

Program at Higher Education Institutions”.

The research examined the factors that influence the choices of students when deciding on a course of
study at higher education institutions in Indonesia. The study surveyed a group of 295 newly enrolled
college and university students.

The study’s findings demonstrated that a number of variables, such as personal interest, employment
prospects, institution reputation, and family influence, had an impact on students’ decision-making
while choosing a study program. The authors found that parental education levels and gender had a
substantial impact on the decision-making of kids.
